2008年6月8日,大华府地区的中国学生学者联合会，马里兰孔子学院，木兰基金会，希望中文学校，同乡会及各界华人社团会所将齐聚马里兰大学Cole Field House。 以我们的行动和热情，表达我们对灾区人民的问候和支持。本次节目邀请到华盛顿地区各艺术,文化,武术舞蹈团体。
各界人士将群集一处, 学生学者及各华人社区代表将献上诗词朗诵，百人古筝,百人舞蹈, 百人合唱, 将展现华盛顿地区诸华人对灾区人民诚挚的关心和慰问。享誉盛名的Venus女声歌声家组合,及专业音乐家也将献上他们的心意。四川同乡会,中国扶贫基金会,中国大使馆也将参与此次义演。中央电视台, 及各海内外新闻单位也为此活动作有关专题报道, 把我们的心声传达给灾区人民，传达到世界每个角落的华人。
On June 8, Greater DC area Chinese Students and Scholars Associations, Confucius Institute at Maryland, Mulan Foundation, Hope Chinese School, Greater DC Chinese-American Association, and other local organizations have gathered to host this charitable event to offer our love and support for the victims of the 5/12 Earthquake.
A poem dedication will be presented by representatives from the Chinese and American communities. Among other cultural performances, Group GuZen, Majestic Dance, and professional Chorus will demonstrate our regards to the disaster areas and victims. Touching presentations by renowned Venus female vocalists and a professional musician will further emphasize our dedication and our affection for our brothers and sisters an ocean away. Szechuan Association, China Fupin Foundation, and the Chinese Embassy will also participate in this charitable cultural event. Among media coverage, CCTV and other medias will be present to convery our love, support and effection to the people who've suffered this tragedy.

Wu Bixia got the silver prize in the vocal competition held by China Musician Association and Ministry of culture of the People's Republic of China. And she recorded her own album in July 1993. Later, she went on to get other prizes, like the first prize in 96' National Vocal Competition, the first prize in the 1st China International Vocal Competition, the first prize in the 8th Bicbao International Vocal Competition, Spain, the second prize in the Moniuszko International Vocal Competition, the second prize in the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition which is considered as the Olympic in the International music world.
