The Chinese Students and Scholar¡¯s Association (CSSA) is a non-profit and nonpolitical
representative entity that coexists with other student bodies in many renowned
institutions for higher education in the USA. Each CSSA is governed by an executive
committee composed of volunteer members of the parent institution. The purposes of CSSAs are
1) To promote social and cultural exchange between Chinese and their peers,
2) To act as a information resource center for Chinese students and scholars, and
3) To represent Chinese scholars in protection of their interest and rights.

With more than 200 established partnerships with universities and governments worldwide, the University of Maryland (UM) places a high value on international cooperation. One of the university's goals is to facilitate an international experience for all UM students, whether via a study abroad program, an internship opportunity with international companies, or one of several campus-based programs providing inter-cultural learning experiences. More than ten percent of UM students come from outside the U.S., placing Maryland, for more than 15 years, among the top 20 U.S. universities serving international students. We are proud to host these outstanding students, and strive to facilitate a positive learning and living experience for our international students. |
